The Pottstown Police Department has provided additional details following a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening near the Ricketts Center.

At approximately 5:53 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to reports of four gunshots in the vicinity of The Richard J. Ricketts Center, located at Beech and Grant Streets. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to separate hospitals for treatment.

Detectives confirmed that a total of four gunshots were fired. Through video evidence and interviews, police determined that the shooting erupted after an argument on the basketball court.

According to reports, two individuals pulled out handguns, fired shots, and then fled the scene. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are in the process of collecting additional video evidence from the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Pottstown Detectives at 610-970-6574.
