MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning that left one vehicle overturned and its driver trapped in Montgomery Township.
The crash occurred around 8:06 a.m. in the 600 block of Bethlehem Pike, near the Five Points intersection and JL Freed Honda.
A gray Toyota Camry sustained severe front-end damage, while a Honda SUV overturned off the roadway and came to rest upside down with heavy side damage. Firefighters worked to free the trapped driver.
At least one person was transported from the scene in unknown condition. It remains unclear how many people were involved in the crash.
Route 309 northbound was closed between Five Points and Taylor Road while police and emergency crews worked at the scene. The southbound lanes remained open.
Montgomery Township Police, the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale, Chal-Brit EMS, Fairmount Fire Company, Horsham Fire Department and North Penn Fire Company were among the agencies responding.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
