The Cedarbrook Nursing Home residents were evacuated at noon Friday due to a power outage and electrical smell. A PPL equipment malfunction in a nearby neighborhood caused a power surge at the senior home. As a result, a motor burned out, prompting the use of a backup generator. The odor issue on the 2nd floor was addressed by transferring residents to another area of the building. Additionally, residents at Cedar Village Independent Living were evacuated out of precaution and have since returned to their residences. PPL crews have resolved the issue at the senior home as of approximately 3 p.m.
