WEST ROCKHILL TWP., Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have released additional information about a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Bucks County last week.
Authorities identified the victim as Peter Charocopos, of Quakertown, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from state police.
The Bucks County Coroner’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 9:47 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 309, just before Street Road and the Route 152 exit in West Rockhill Township.
Investigators said Charocopos was traveling southbound on Route 309 in the left lane when he entered a downhill left curve and approached a slower-moving sedan ahead of him.
To avoid the vehicle, Charocopos attempted to steer into the right lane but lost control of his motorcycle, crossing onto the western shoulder. He was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a guardrail, resulting in a fatal injury, state police said.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
