
HELLERTOWN, Pa. — Emergency crews responded to a hazardous materials incident in the 1400 block of Main Street in Hellertown after a large quantity of cooking oil spilled onto the roadway, forcing temporary road closures while cleanup operations were conducted.
The spill created hazardous driving conditions and prompted a response from emergency personnel to contain the substance and safely clean the affected area.
According to Hellertown Police, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are treating the case as a possible cooking oil theft. Authorities have not confirmed that any theft occurred, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Roadways in the area were temporarily shut down while cleanup crews worked to remove the oil and restore safe travel conditions.
No injuries were reported.
