FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. — An Allentown man charged in connection with a 2024 burglary and shooting incident at a Fountain Hill pharmacy has pleaded guilty, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say 57-year-old Miguel Angel Martinez entered a guilty plea Monday to charges including conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, and possessing instruments of crime.

Authorities said Martinez is scheduled to be sentenced on June 26 at 1:30 p.m. Prosecutors stated he could face a possible sentence of 22½ to 45 years in state prison.

Another defendant in the case, identified as 34-year-old David Montes Vazquez of Bethlehem, remains charged with multiple felony offenses, including conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy involving firearm possession, receiving stolen property, and additional related charges. A status conference for Vazquez is scheduled for May 28.

The investigation stems from an incident on Dec. 25, 2024, when Fountain Hill Police responded to a burglar alarm at Fountain Hill Pharmacy, located in the 1000 block of Broadway.

According to investigators, officers arrived and encountered two men inside the business, later identified as Martinez and Vazquez. Authorities allege one of the suspects pointed a firearm at a responding officer, prompting police to open fire. Officials said neither suspect was struck.

Investigators say several shots were allegedly fired by Vazquez during the incident. While no injuries were reported from the exchange of gunfire, authorities stated that two bullets fired from inside the pharmacy entered a nearby occupied home along the 1000 block of Broadway.

The case remains under investigation.
