Authorities responded to an apartment fire Sunday at 401 West 4th Street, Suite 115 in East Greenville, Montgomery County.
According to initial reports, the fire started in the kitchen area of a first-floor apartment. Sprinkler systems inside the building activated and helped keep the fire from spreading.
Fire crews entered the unit and assisted one person who was in a wheelchair. The individual was removed from the apartment, but their condition has not yet been released.
Multiple fire departments, police and EMS were on scene. Crews remained in the area ventilating smoke and checking for any remaining hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
