COOPERSBURG, Pa. — A beloved roadside fixture in Coopersburg is making his return.
The giant ice cream man outside The Inside Scoop is known as “Chip,” a well-known mascot that has become a landmark for locals and visitors traveling along Route 309.
Chip was knocked down earlier this year after strong winter winds brought the massive statue down outside the popular ice cream shop. At the time, the business indicated the figure would need repairs and would be kept in a heated space before being restored.
Now, after weeks of repairs, The Inside Scoop has confirmed that Chip is returning to his familiar spot outside the shop.
The oversized figure is more than just decoration — Chip has become one of the most recognizable roadside attractions in the area and a staple for the community.
His return comes just in time for the warmer season, bringing back a familiar sight for customers stopping by the longtime Coopersburg favorite.
This remains a feel-good local story as Chip officially makes his comeback.
