BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A Bethlehem man has been sentenced to up to 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty in connection with a 2024 shooting that left a woman with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Allen Jahmell Grimes, 20, was sentenced Monday to 10 to 20 years in state prison, followed by five years of state probation, according to the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.
The District Attorney’s Office said Grimes previously pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault.
The case stems from a shooting that occurred on February 28, 2024, when Bethlehem Police responded to the 400 block of Cherokee Street for a report of gunfire.
According to prosecutors, responding officers located a male and female victim at the scene. The woman had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Grimes was subsequently charged in connection with the shooting.
Following his guilty plea, Grimes was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 20 years behind bars. Once released from prison, he will also be required to serve five years of state probation.
The case was prosecuted through the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.
