ELIZABETH, N.J. – A man from New Jersey has been charged with homicide following the death of a woman whose body was discovered in a dumpster in Coopersburg.
Authorities report that Rolando Corte, 42, from Elizabeth, New Jersey, is facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of 39-year-old Lucrecia E. Jadan Sumba, also from Elizabeth.
On January 9, Sumba’s family and friends reported her missing to the Elizabeth Police Department after last seeing her the day before.
An investigation conducted by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, the Elizabeth Police Department, the Coopersburg Police Department, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office led to the identification and arrest of Corte on January 12.
Corte is currently being held at the Union County Jail, with his first court appearance scheduled for January 16.
