ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh County Coroner has identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night in the city of Allentown.
According to the coroner, Jeomy M. Soto, 19, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m. Thursday at a local hospital. Soto died as a result of gunshot wounds, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Authorities say gunshots were reported just after 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Carrot Street, an alley located behind Washington Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, it is not known if anyone has been taken into custody. The incident remains under investigation by Allentown Police.
