After a choppy and at times sloppy Saturday night performance, the Philadelphia Eagles did just enough to take care of business — clinching the NFC East with a 29–18 victory over the Washington Commanders.
The game was far from clean for Philadelphia, featuring stalled drives, penalties, and momentum swings that kept the Commanders within reach for much of the night. However, the Eagles capitalized on key opportunities and made critical plays in all three phases to pull away late.
Philadelphia’s defense stepped up when needed, forcing stops and limiting Washington’s ability to sustain drives in the second half. Offensively, the Eagles leaned on timely execution to build and maintain their lead, even as inconsistencies lingered throughout the contest.
Washington showed flashes and competed deep into the game, but mistakes and missed chances ultimately proved costly against a division rival fighting for a title.
With the win, the Eagles officially secure the NFC East crown and punch their ticket to the postseason. While there are areas to clean up heading into the playoffs, Philadelphia accomplished the most important goal of the night — finishing on top of the division and keeping their championship hopes alive as January approaches. 🦅
