EMMAUS, Pa. — Crews battled a third-alarm house fire early Saturday morning in Emmaus that heavily damaged a home and sent multiple fire companies rushing to the scene.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of Ridge Street around 2:00 a.m., where flames were seen pouring from the roof of the residence. The fire quickly escalated, prompting officials to strike a third alarm to bring in additional manpower and resources from surrounding departments.
Responding crews worked aggressively to contain the blaze as smoke poured from second-floor windows and the home’s front porches were gutted by fire. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours performing overhaul and ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.
At this time, there’s no word on what sparked the fire or whether any injuries occurred. The cause remains under investigation by local fire officials and the Lehigh County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Residents nearby reported being awakened by sirens and seeing heavy smoke rising over the neighborhood as multiple companies responded from across the Lehigh Valley.
Further updates will be provided as new details become available.
