BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. — A 20-year-old East Rockhill Township man is facing serious felony charges after investigators say he connected with an 11-year-old child through Snapchat and later met up with the victim.
According to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, the man allegedly began communicating with the child on the social media platform before arranging an in-person meeting. Detectives say the encounter led to criminal conduct that resulted in charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.
Authorities say the investigation began after the victim disclosed what happened to a trusted adult, prompting police to launch a detailed forensic review of the Snapchat communications. Detectives also executed search warrants to gather digital evidence.
The man was taken into custody and arraigned. Bail conditions and court date information were not immediately released. The case remains under investigation, and additional charges are possible as digital evidence is reviewed.
The Bucks County DA is urging parents to monitor their children’s social media activity and talk with them about safe online behavior, especially on platforms that allow disappearing messages.
