

TELFORD, Pa. — Franconia Fall Fest is bringing a weekend of family activities to Franconia Community Park, where visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, vendors, wagon rides, a pumpkin patch and helicopter rides.
The festival is being held Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, at the park at 671 Allentown Road. Saturday’s schedule included live music and a fire company demonstration, with fireworks planned for 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s activities include a Jeep-O-Ween Jeep show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and helicopter candy drops at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The township notes that the schedule is subject to change. www.franconiatownship.org
JAARS is providing helicopter rides for $40 per person. The organization’s name stands for Jungle Aviation and Relay Service. JAARS is a Christian mission organization that uses specialized aircraft, boats and off-road vehicles to help Bible translators, missionaries and supplies reach remote communities around the world. www.jaars.org
JAARS describes its work as “covering the last mile” of missions. Its teams and partner organizations work in places where regular transportation can be limited by rugged terrain, rivers, distance and a lack of roads. The festival also features an antique tractor show both days, along with a pumpkin patch, hay maze, wagon rides, face painting, a bounce house, vendors and food trucks.
