HAZLETON, Pa. — Fire crews were called to a blaze at an old church in Luzerne County late Saturday night.

Hazleton Fire Chief Donald Leshko said crews responded around 9:45 p.m. to the corner of North Laurel Street and West Green Street after reports of heavy smoke and flames coming from the upper levels of the structure.
The fire was located on the third floor of the building, and firefighters used aerial devices to attack the flames from above. The Waverly Fire Department was also on scene providing mutual aid, while additional units worked to secure the surrounding area.
A fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the blaze.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
