Allentown firefighters were busy working on the East Side of the city on Friday morning. They received a call about a house fire in the 1100 block of E Tilghman Street. The crews quickly responded and saw a large amount of smoke coming from the building as they left the station. When they arrived, they found that the fire had already spread to the first floor of the house. The firefighters immediately got to work and managed to extinguish the flames. However, due to the severity of the situation, a second alarm was called for. After about 20 minutes, the fire was under control and the firefighters started opening up the area to ensure that the fire wouldn’t reignite. The fire marshal is currently handling the investigation.
