Officials in Bucks County have announced that the county’s 911 system is currently experiencing a “cybersecurity incident”. A letter from the county administration addressed to local EMS and fire personnel states that the county’s Department of Communications’ computer-aided dispatch system has been offline since Sunday afternoon due to a cyberattack. Although there is no estimated time for the system to be back up and running, officials have confirmed that all phone and radio systems are functioning properly. Additionally, the county has stated that all emergency calls are still being received and quickly dispatched to the appropriate first responders. Finally, a backup system is currently being used to document all incidents until the main system is restored.
