Jason Kelce, the former center of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Fletcher Cox, will throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Philadelphia Phillies’ game versus the Atlanta Braves on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park. Kelce revealed this on his “New Heights” podcast and mentioned that he and Cox will see how it goes. However, since Kelce’s elbow doesn’t work anymore, he thinks Cox will have to do it.
Travis Kelce, Jason’s brother, who is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, also shared his experience of throwing the first pitch with his mom, Donna, during the Cleveland Guardians opener last year. Travis mentioned that he and his mom were told they would be throwing the first pitch, but he didn’t have time to practice, and his pitch didn’t make it over the plate.
