ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Two juveniles are facing charges after a girl was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Allentown, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Pine Street. Allentown police responded to reports of a shooting and found a juvenile girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.
Authorities are withholding the names of the victim and the suspects due to their ages. Both juveniles charged are being prosecuted through the juvenile court system.
According to the DA’s office, the shooting occurred as a group of teens were gathered in a bedroom. One male juvenile, identified as being from Lansford in Carbon County, had brought a .380-caliber handgun concealed in a fanny pack. Witnesses said the boy removed the gun, racked the slide, and ejected the magazine, then claimed the weapon was unloaded before handing it to one of the girls present.
The female juvenile, from Allentown, reportedly pointed the gun around the room, which was equipped with a laser sight. She then pulled the trigger, firing a round that struck the victim in the face.
Following the shooting, most of the teens fled the scene. The male juvenile allegedly retrieved the firearm and fled, threatening the female shooter not to speak to police or she would be beaten.
One juvenile stayed behind, called 911, and rendered aid to the wounded girl until emergency responders arrived.
The male juvenile has been charged with:
- Intimidation of witnesses or victims
- Firearms not to be carried without a license

- Tampering with or fabricating physical evidence
- Five counts of recklessly endangering another person
The female juvenile is charged with:
- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
