Lansdale, PA – Corey John Nawrocki, a 41-year-old decorated Marine veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient, will be honored with a homecoming procession this Saturday night. Nawrocki lost his life in action on October 28, 2024, while serving as a volunteer fighter with the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a reconnaissance and sabotage mission in the Bryansk region of Russia.
A North Penn High School graduate, Nawrocki dedicated 20 years to the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring in 2021 after multiple tours of duty. His final position was that of a gunnery sergeant at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C., and he served with both the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines (B Company) and the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance (Blackfoot Company).
During the homecoming ceremony, both the Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale and the North Penn Volunteer Fire Company will present the American flag at the funeral home. A bagpiper will perform “Amazing Grace” and “The Marine Corps Hymn” to honor Nawrocki, who was also a Bronze Star recipient for valor and served as the keynote speaker at the Veterans Appreciation Brunch in Souderton.
This procession stands as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans and highlights the community’s commitment to honoring their service.
