SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Lehigh Valley Zoo announced it will be closed today due to extreme cold temperatures impacting the region.
Zoo officials say the decision was made out of concern for the safety of visitors, staff, and animals as dangerously cold conditions move through the Lehigh Valley.
The zoo typically operates winter daytime hours during the colder months, but weather-related closures are implemented when temperatures and wind chills become unsafe for outdoor activity.
Officials say they will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates on reopening once temperatures improve.
Visitors planning future trips are encouraged to check the zoo’s official channels before heading out during periods of extreme weather.
