SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Fire crews responded Friday to a dwelling fire near 25th Street and West Columbia Street after reports of smoke coming from a two-story home.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was seen pushing from the structure. Emergency personnel quickly went to work to bring the fire under control and ensure all occupants were safe.
Several dogs were rescued from the home during the response, officials confirmed. No human injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Residents are reminded to check smoke detectors and have an evacuation plan in place for both people and pets in case of emergencies.
