PALMER TWP., Pa. – A two-alarm house fire broke out Sunday afternoon in Palmer Township, according to Northampton County emergency officials.
Crews were dispatched shortly before 12:45 p.m. to the 3000 block of William Penn Highway for reports of a working fire in a 1½‑story residence. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames, prompting an immediate call for additional manpower and equipment.
No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported, authorities said. However, first responders were seen providing care to a cat rescued from inside the home.
Multiple departments from the surrounding area responded, working for more than an hour to bring the fire under control. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by local fire officials.
