On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at approximately 12:48 AM, police officers from the Upper Saucon Township Police Department responded to a 911 call about a home invasion on the 4800 block of West Hopewell Road. The caller reported hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found an individual outside the residence, armed with a firearm. After a lengthy negotiation lasting over 30 minutes, the individual tragically shot themself. Medical assistance was quickly summoned, and the person was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. Preliminary investigations indicate that this is an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation is still ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available. We would like to thank our first responder partners for their support during this incident. The Upper Saucon Township Police, along with the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit, are continuing to investigate the matter.
