S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A section of Route 22 in Lehigh County is closed Monday afternoon due to a serious police incident, according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky.
The closure affects westbound traffic at Route 309 and will be in place for a couple of hours. The incident occurred at mile marker 316.
All westbound traffic on Route 22 is being diverted to Route 309 North.
Details about the nature of the incident are not yet available. Additionally, the Parkland School District has announced that there may be delays for afternoon buses due to the closure of Route 22 between Route 309 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
