Pennridge regional police assisted Marlborough Township police in a vehicle pursuit following reports of shots fired and an assault involving a cyclist. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that the vehicle involved had fled, and the suspect was firing rounds at law enforcement.
The pursuit involved a Marlborough Township police officer along with Marlborough Township police and numerous officers from the Montgomery County Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police. The chase moved into West Rock Hill Township on Ridge Road, where the driver continued to fire at the pursuing officers from a blue Ford Mustang.
The situation escalated when the Mustang drove into a waterline construction area and became stuck. In response, Bucks and Montgomery County police, along with Pennsylvania State Police, established a perimeter and initiated communication with the driver. Negotiators from the Central Bucks Special Response Team and Bucks County SWAT successfully took the driver into custody.
Fortunately, no civilians or police officers were injured during the incident. Witnesses reported observing the Mustang fleeing from police and hearing shots that resembled those fired from a shotgun.
