QUAKERTOWN, Pa. — The Quakertown Community School District has voted to award its student transportation contract to Levy School Bus Company, extending the company’s long-standing relationship with the district.
The decision was approved by a unanimous vote of the school board, with one member abstaining.
District officials say the proposal would keep Levy in place as the district’s transportation provider through the 2030/31 school year. However, the agreement is contingent upon successful contract negotiations between both parties.
Levy has served as the district’s transportation provider for several years, handling daily bus routes for students across the Quakertown area.
School officials did not immediately release full contract details, including potential costs or any operational changes that may come with the new agreement.
The next steps will involve finalizing contract terms, which could include adjustments to pricing, routes, staffing, and service expectations.
The decision ensures continuity in student transportation services while negotiations move forward.
More details are expected to be released as contract discussions continue.
