.At just minutes past midnight, the QFD (Quakertown Fire Department) received a dispatch call from Bucks County 911 regarding a chimney fire in the 200 Block of Station Road. Deputy 87 reached the location and confirmed the presence of moderate smoke throughout the 2 1/2 story multi-family dwelling. Upon inquiry, residents reported that the smoke was coming from the chimney. However, as the firefighters investigated the situation, they discovered high heat and worsening smoke conditions on the first floor. They used their Quakertown Command system to identify the source and requested for working fire dispatch. The crew then opened up the walls of the bathroom and found fire running from the basement to the second floor. They quickly extinguished the fire using the handline that was in place.
