A fast-moving winter system is expected to bring accumulating snow to the region late Saturday night into Sunday morning, marking a return to winter weather for Lehigh, Bucks, Berks, and Northampton counties. Forecasters say the bulk of the snow will fall overnight, with light accumulations lingering into early Sunday.
Saturday: Quiet Before the Storm
Saturday will be mostly cloudy but dry, with temperatures reaching around 39°F. Light south winds will shift southwest through the day. Conditions remain calm until late evening.
Snow Arrives Late Saturday Night
Snow is expected to move in after 10 PM Saturday, with cold temperatures in the mid-20s allowing snow to accumulate quickly.
The National Weather Service is calling for a 90% chance of snow and 1 to 3 inches of accumulation overnight. Roads may become slick, especially untreated or elevated surfaces.
Sunday Morning: Snow Tapers Off
Light snow may continue until about 10 AM Sunday, though any additional accumulation should be under half an inch. After the snow moves out, skies become partly sunny but temperatures will only reach around 29°F, with northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph.
❄️ Expected Snow Totals by County
Lehigh County:
1–3 inches expected, with higher totals possible on the northern and western edges of the county.
Northampton County:
1–3 inches, with the best accumulation occurring overnight before tapering early Sunday.
Bucks County:
1–2 inches for most areas, though upper Bucks could see closer to 2–3 inches depending on banding.
Berks County:
1–3 inches, with colder western and northern areas potentially reaching the higher end of that range.
