MIDDLETOWN TWP., Pa. — Additional charges have been filed against the Bucks County man accused of killing and beheading his father, then posting a disturbing social media video.
Justin Mohn, 32, is now facing three counts of terrorism, two more counts of possession of an instrument of crime, and one count each of robbery, firearms not to be carried without a license, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen proeprty, criminal use of a communication facility, terroristic threats and defiant trespassing, the county district attorney said Thursday.
The Middletown Township man is already behind bars without bail. Mohn allegedly shot his father, 68-year-old Michael Mohn, in their home on Upper Orchard Drive on Jan. 30, then decapitated his father using a machete and knife. He recorded and posted to YouTube a 14-minute video which starts with him holding up his father’s head.
In that video, which was up for hours before being taken down by YouTube, Mohn ordered all militia and patriots across the U.S. to kill all federal employees. Michael Mohn was a federal employee with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Mohn also listed specific federal officials who should be captured and killed.
After the video was posted, Mohn fled the home in his father’s car and was arrested hours later at the National Guard Training Center in Fort Indiantown Gap, Lebanon County, authorities say. Mohn had climbed a barbed wire fence and entered a secure military installation. He told police he was trying to mobilize the National Guard to raise arms against the federal government.
He was found to have a loaded gun and a USB device, which had a folder with pictures of federal buildings and instructions on how to make an explosive device, the DA says. He had purchased the gun the day before.
Mohn’s next court date is scheduled for April.
