On February 11, Kansas City (14-6) will face San Francisco in Las Vegas. If the Chiefs win, they will become the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New England Patriots did so 19 years ago. In the NFC Championship game, the 49ers rallied to defeat Detroit 34-31 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Despite trailing 24-7 at halftime, San Francisco managed to score 27 second half points while holding the Lions to only a desperation touchdown in the final minute of regulation. Christian McCaffrey ran for two touchdowns, and Brock Purdy threw a scoring pass to Brandon Aiyuk. Interestingly, the two teams also battled it out in Super Bowl LIV in 2020, which was won by the Chiefs 31-20.
