SLATINGTON, Pa. — Two men have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the sexual assault of a woman inside the basement of a Slatington home, court officials confirmed this week.
According to prosecutors, the assault occurred after the victim was taken into the residence and held in the basement, where she was sexually attacked. Investigators said the woman later reported the incident, prompting a police investigation that led to the identification and arrest of both suspects.
Authorities stated that evidence collected during the investigation — including victim statements and forensic findings — supported the criminal charges filed against the men.
Both defendants entered guilty pleas in court, accepting responsibility for their involvement in the assault. The pleas eliminate the need for a trial.
Sentencing hearings are scheduled for a later date. Officials have not yet announced the penalties the men could face, though the charges carry lengthy prison terms under Pennsylvania law.
Law enforcement officials credited the victim’s cooperation and resilience as key factors in the successful prosecution.
The case remains pending before the court as sentencing approaches.
