ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Firefighters rescued a victim from the second floor of a burning home in the city Thursday after heavy smoke was reported inside a two-story dwelling.
The fire was reported at 43 East Susquehanna Street, where crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the second division of the residence.
According to emergency radio traffic, a victim was located on the second floor and found down by a ladder as crews made entry. Firefighters quickly removed the victim and began medical care at the scene.
Multiple fire companies operated on location as crews worked to knock down the fire and ventilate the structure.
The condition of the victim has not yet been released. No additional injuries have been confirmed at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
