A dump truck crashed into a tree Thursday afternoon in West Rockhill Township, temporarily trapping the driver and forcing the closure of Forest Road.
The crash happened on Forest Road between Catch Basin Road and Old Mill Road. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene after reports the driver was trapped inside the vehicle following the collision.
Fire department personnel assisted at the scene, however the driver was able to free himself from the dump truck prior to full extrication efforts.
The severity of the driver’s injuries remains unknown at this time.
Forest Road remains closed in the area as emergency crews continue operating on scene and work to clear the wreckage. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
The incident remained active as of approximately 3:50 p.m. Friday afternoon.
