BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A 71-year-old man died Tuesday night after his car struck a tree in Bethlehem, police said.
Officers were called to Easton Road near Church Lane at about 8:20 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving an unconscious driver, Bethlehem Police Capt. William Audelo said.
Emergency crews found the man unresponsive inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead after being removed from the car and lifesaving efforts were attempted, police said.
Investigators said the car was traveling east on Easton Road when it left the roadway, traveled along an embankment near a cemetery and re-entered the road before striking a tree.
The crash remains under investigation.
