Another major milestone has been added to Caitlin Clark’s already remarkable basketball career.
2K Sports officially announced Tuesday that Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will appear on the cover of the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition, making her the first WNBA player to receive a solo global cover in the history of the popular basketball video game franchise.
Clark’s selection is another sign of the tremendous impact she has had on the sport. Since entering the WNBA, she has helped bring record television ratings, sold-out arenas, and increased attention to women’s basketball both in the United States and around the world.
The NBA 2K27 cover lineup features three of basketball’s biggest names:
- Standard Edition: Victor Wembanyama
- Deluxe Edition: Caitlin Clark
- Ultra Edition: Derrick Rose
Clark said being featured on the cover is especially meaningful because the NBA 2K franchise reaches basketball fans across the globe.
“To be the first WNBA player on her own global cover means women’s basketball gets to show up on that stage too, and I am proud to be part of that,” Clark said in the announcement.
Victor Wembanyama, one of the NBA’s brightest young stars, headlines the Standard Edition after another dominant season, while former league MVP Derrick Rose is honored with the Ultra Edition, celebrating one of basketball’s most memorable and resilient careers.
NBA 2K has featured WNBA players in previous releases, but never before has a WNBA athlete been given a standalone global cover. The announcement is widely viewed as another landmark moment for the league and further recognition of Clark’s influence on the game.
NBA 2K27 is scheduled for worldwide release on September 4, 2026, with Early Access beginning August 28 for Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners.
