More than 122,000 cases of Gatorade are being recalled across dozens of states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey, because certain bottles contain food dyes that were not declared on the product labels.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall involves 122,021 cases of 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade.
The affected products include:
- Gatorade Lemon Lime
- Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero
- Gatorade Orange
- Gatorade Orange Zero
The recalled drinks contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 that were not properly declared on the labels.
PepsiCo voluntarily initiated the recall on Sept. 25, 2026. The FDA later classified the action as a Class II recall on Oct. 2.
A Class II recall means use of or exposure to the affected product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, while the likelihood of serious health consequences is considered remote.
The affected Gatorade was distributed to 37 states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
