Former Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, is in talks with the Manhattan district attorney’s office to negotiate a plea deal. The deal would resolve a serious issue. If the negotiations are successful, Weisselberg would plead guilty to perjury for lying on the witness stand during the October civil fraud trial, which named him, his ex-boss – former President Donald Trump – and others as defendants. The sources have described the plea negotiations as being in their initial stages. The New York Times was the first to report on this, but a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has declined to comment. There has also been no response from Weisselberg’s attorney to the request for comment.
