EMMAUS, Pa. – Two tractor-trailers caught fire on the Northeast Extension in Lehigh County. The incident generated significant smoke, leading to evacuations of nearby residents and causing major traffic disruptions throughout the day and into the night. State Police are investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Officials from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reported that one of the trucks was empty, while the other was transporting train wheels.
