NESQUEHONING, Pa. – Authorities in Carbon County are investigating an unusual case of fast-food felony: the theft of a Ronald McDonald statue.
According to Nesquehoning Police, a group of suspects was caught on surveillance cameras walking into the McDonald’s restaurant and casually walking out with the iconic statue of Ronald McDonald. The incident took place on Sunday.
In a humorous post on Facebook, police said, “Ronald was last seen smiling, as usual, unaware of the betrayal. Witnesses say he didn’t even put up a fight.”
The statue, which has been a longtime fixture at the location, is valued not just for its cost, but for its nostalgia and charm. The suspects have not yet been publicly identified, but police are reviewing footage and seeking tips from the community.
