
SALISBURY TWP., Pa. – A vehicle fire accompanied by a fuel spill caused major traffic disruptions late Wednesday morning on a stretch of Interstate 78 in Lehigh County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Exit 59 for Summit Lawn/Route 145 in Salisbury Township. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, working to extinguish the fire and contain the fuel spill.
All lanes were shut down temporarily, backing up traffic as first responders worked to ensure safety and clear the roadway.
By just before noon, authorities had successfully reopened all lanes, and traffic was moving again.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
