

WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A police pursuit that began in Allentown ended in a violent crash late Wednesday night, leaving several people injured and prompting a heavy emergency response.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday when Allentown Police were pursuing a vehicle whose driver was reportedly armed with a firearm. The pursuit continued into Whitehall Township, where the fleeing vehicle lost control and crashed at the intersection of 13th Street and Pennsylvania Street.
Emergency crews from Whitehall Township Fire and EMS arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle and multiple injured individuals. Several victims were treated at the scene before being transported to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as police and accident reconstruction teams investigated. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect, but confirmed that the individual was taken into custody. A firearm was reportedly recovered at the scene.
