
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A man was struck and killed Friday night in a hit-and-run crash on the 2400 block of South 4th Street, according to Allentown Police.
Officers arrived to find the victim unresponsive in the roadway after being hit by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of family. Investigators also have not announced any arrests or confirmed a vehicle description as of this time.
The incident marks another serious pedestrian fatality in the city, which has experienced several deadly vehicle-against-pedestrian crashes in recent years. Police continue to review evidence and are seeking any witnesses or residents who may have surveillance or dash-cam footage from the area of S. 4th Street during the time of the crash.
