
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has ruled the death of a man who was struck by a vehicle in Allentown as a homicide.
According to a news release from the coroner’s office, 29-year-old Rigoberto E. Hernandez Arias, of Allentown, was struck and run over by a motor vehicle in the 2000 block of South 4th Street at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Friday.
Hernandez Arias was taken from the scene to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m. Friday in the hospital’s Emergency Department, officials said.
The coroner’s office said the cause of death is related to injuries sustained after being struck by the vehicle, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
The incident remains under active investigation by authorities. No additional details about the vehicle or possible suspects were immediately released.
