TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A shooting incident along the Pennsylvania Turnpike triggered a large police response and forced the closure of westbound lanes Saturday evening.
According to authorities, Pennsylvania State Police and multiple surrounding agencies responded around 7:00 p.m. to reports of a shooting on the Turnpike between the Valley Forge interchange (Exit 326) and the Phoenixville/Malvern interchange (Exit 320).
Officials confirmed that one person was transported to a nearby hospital. The individual’s condition has not been released at this time.
As police worked the scene, Turnpike officials shut down all westbound lanes in the impacted area, leading to significant traffic delays.
Investigators have not yet released information on what led up to the shooting, and it remains unclear whether any suspects have been identified or taken into custody.
