
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Fire crews battled a blaze Sunday afternoon in Allentown after a carport fire spread to a three-story home, sending heavy smoke into the neighborhood.
The fire broke out at 537 North 11th Street in the city’s West End area. According to initial reports, the flames began in a carport at the rear of the property before extending into the back of the middle-of-the-row dwelling.
Arriving crews encountered heavy fire conditions and quickly went to work to keep the blaze from spreading to attached homes on either side. Multiple Allentown Fire Department units responded, with firefighters bringing the incident under control after an intense firefight.
At this time, there has been no official word on possible injuries. The cause of the fire is also still under investigation by the Allentown Fire Department and the city’s fire marshal.
