
Allentown police say no gunshot injuries were reported following a shooting investigation Saturday night in the 300 block of Linden Street.
According to police, officers responded to the area around 8 p.m. for reports of a shooting. An initial investigation determined a single shot was fired during the incident, however no individuals were struck by gunfire.
Authorities confirmed one person was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during an altercation at the scene. The extent of those injuries has not been released.
Earlier scanner reports indicated multiple possible shooting victims and police detaining one individual at gunpoint as officers secured the scene. Witnesses at the scene also reported hearing gunfire and observing a physical altercation moments before the shot was fired.
Police remained in the area for an extended period Saturday evening while detectives processed the scene and interviewed witnesses.
