ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A shooting early Saturday morning left two people injured outside a bar in Allentown, according to police.
Officials reported that around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Allentown Police responded to a report of a possible shooting in the 200 block of East Hamilton Street, the location of Freddie’s Bar and Grille. Two victims, a 36-year-old male and a 41-year-old female, were found suffering injuries from an assault. According to a press release, the male victim sustained a gunshot wound to his body.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive their injuries.
Allentown Police stated that the investigation revealed that both victims were inside Freddie’s Bar and Grill when a group of suspects arrived and began arguing with them. Everyone involved in the argument left the bar, and once outside, the suspects assaulted both victims. During the assault, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at the victims. Only the male victim was struck by the gunfire.
