PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Armed suspects made off with approximately $1.8 million after targeting an armored truck during a robbery in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue, according to initial reports.
Authorities say two suspects, both armed with assault-style rifles, approached and robbed the Brink’s armored truck before fleeing the scene in a blue getaway vehicle.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Police have not yet released descriptions of the suspects, and it remains unclear how the robbery unfolded or whether any arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify those responsible and recover the stolen money.
